NFL Network Multiple Layoffs: Fired Key Personalities Andrew Siciliano & Melissa Stark

According to the story, NFL insider and Los Angeles Rams preseason play-by-play voice Andrew Siciliano was one of the reporters let go by the organization.

Some of the most well-liked and gifted individuals on the network are among the other three who were purportedly let go. The popular anchor Siciliano was the face of the “Red Zone Channel” on DirecTV. Stark works as a sideline reporter and analyst. Palmer is a network analyst who also reports breaking news. Selva was a morning program anchor for “Good Morning Football.”

The NFL’s main network has severed connections with on-air personalities Andrew Siciliano, Melissa Stark, James Palmer, and Will Selva, according to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic. While an NFL Network representative confirmed that cutbacks were being made, she would not disclose the identities of individuals who were let go.

“As is normal course of business this time of year, we are evaluating our talent roster for the upcoming 2024 season and beyond,” NFL Network spokesperson Alex Riethmiller told The Athletic. “That process results in renewals, non-renewals and additions to our talent lineup depending on programming needs. To those departing talent, we give our sincere thanks and appreciation for their hard work and contributions to NFL Media.”

Marchand claims that even though NFL Network receives direct funding from the NFL, the most lucrative professional sport in the world, this is a part of a larger cost-cutting initiative at the network.

“Good Morning Football,” the network’s morning program, recently said it will be moving from New York to Los Angeles. Of the four hosts, just one has made the announcement that they will be moving west thus far.

Reducing expenses may help the network become more appealing in the event that it and ESPN decide to exchange stock. The NFL and ESPN had reportedly been in “advanced talks” for the NFL to purchase an ownership part in the network back in January, according to The Athletic.

Palmer’s bio said that he has been a reporter for the NFL since 2015.

In a tweet announcing the breakup, he referred to his time working for the network as a “dream job.”

“Some personal news. NFL Network has bought out my contract and my time there has come to an end,” Palmer posted on X on Thursday morning. “It was a dream job and I loved every minute of it. And that’s mostly because of the people that I got to work with and the friendships that will last well beyond any ‘job’. I’m excited for what’s to come. Not sure what that is exactly, I’ve learned a lot in the last decade at NFl Network and I’m better for it.”
